JUNCTION CHURCH NEWS!
THE PAST 6 MONTHS…
The first half of 2017 has seen significant growth in the Junction Church. There has been an influx of new faces, many of them having never been to church before. Since January, nearly 200 people have made decisions to embark on their own journey of following Jesus. We’ve also formed a load of new life groups. Meanwhile, our equip courses have proven very popular with dozens of people turning out to study a choice of subjects in more depth. We’re really encouraged by the health of our church community.
SUMMER MADNESS – AUGUST
We spent a week serving in one of Loughborough’s main residential areas from 21-27 August. This involved a fantastic kids programme led by our team of 30+ volunteers. Over 100 kids from a local estate registered and they had the best time ever!! It was also great to see 100’s of people at #SundayFunday. This was a 1 hour service followed by food, sport and games. Read more & see the video diaries from Summer Madness HERE.
Every week, we produce church news (see video at the top of the page). This is designed to keep people informed about what’s happening in the Junction Church. Everything is produced in house, including the soundtrack. We’ve had loads of people comment on how much they like the music. So we thought we’d release it as an album – all 14 tracks. It’s called VIBE. It’s original, creative, quirky & fresh. VIBE is the perfect album for travelling, listening to while you’re at the gym or just for chilling. It’s available on iTunes. It actually got to number 3 on the iTunes Christian album charts!! To preview it, click HERE.
NEW VENUE FOR LEICESTER – SEPTEMBER
Our Leicester campus is also growing (launched less than a year ago)! We’ve actually outgrown our current venue!! So, we’re excited to let you know that from Sunday 3rd September, we’re be meeting in a NEW Sunday night venue right in the heart of Leicester’s cultural quarter. It’s called The Echo Factory, a brand new music college in the city. This will enable us to take our Sunday night services to the next level…and we cannot wait!!
NEW TEACHING SERIES – SEPTEMBER
Lead pastors Roy & Lydia Todd are bringing a brand new Sunday teaching series this September called #BRAVE. This is an honest & vulnerable look at what it means to be courageous. It goes beyond bravado and digs into the nitty gritty of courage in everyday life – & what the bible has to say about it. They’ll be looking at questions like: How do you face challenges well? How do you keep trusting when it feels like God is distant? How do you stay on track in the midst of changing circumstances? This will be four weeks of world class bible teaching starting Sunday 3rd September. Plus there’s opportunity to unpack it more in life groups. We can’t wait!
VISION DAY – OCTOBER
Mark the date. Sunday 15th October is VISION DAY. This falls on our 5th birthday!! We’ll be updating you on what’s been happening over the past year as well as keeping you informed about some significant developments coming up over the next year too. This will be happening in both our Loughborough and Leicester campuses. If you’re part of the Junction Church family, you really won’t want to miss this.
TEACHING ON THE HOLY SPIRIT – OCTOBER
As a church, we passionately believe in the work of the Holy Spirit today. So over two Tuesday nights this October, our lead pastor Roy Todd will be bringing a series of teaching that will help us understand the Holy Spirit’s work better and experience him today. During this time, he’ll be praying for people to be filled with the Holy Spirit too. This teaching is happening on Tuesday 10th & 17th October – hosted at Loughborough Baptist church at 7:30pm. Be sure not to miss this!
BAPTISM CELEBRATION – NOVEMBER
During the past year, we’ve baptised dozens of people. This is a sign of how our church has been growing. We’ll be hosting our next baptism celebration on Thursday 2nd November at 7:30pm – hosted at Loughborough Baptist Church. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the goodness of God in the lives of numbers of people who have recently decided to follow Jesus. If you’d like to know more about why we believe in baptism, read a helpful blog HERE.
V3 CONFERENCE – 11-12 NOVEMBER
V3 is one of the main highlights in our church calendar. This is the Junction Church conference – a weekend of worship, ministry and the opportunity to catch God’s heart for our area. We’ve got some great guest speakers coming to be with us and a fantastic kids programme so mums and dads can enjoy the conference too. You can find out loads more information and book in by clicking HERE.
NEW WORSHIP ALBUM – 16th NOVEMBER
On Thursday 16th November, we’re releasing a brand new worship album by Junction Collective. This is called ‘HOPE WILL ARISE’. The album is brimming with creative brilliance, freshness and originality. The song ‘Hope will Arise’ has become a bit of an anthem in the life of our church and we think you will love the version we’ve recorded. In fact, this is an entire album of great new songs which reflect our passion for Jesus, His house and our world. Watch this space.
CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICES – DECEMBER
We LOVE Christmas at the Junction Church. This year, we’re offering four carol services, all special and all unique. Sunday 3rd December: Contemporary Carols. Sunday 10th December – Classic Carols. Sunday 17th December – Community Carols. Sunday 24th December – Christmas Eve Carols. We’ll be giving more information nearer the time.
KEYNOTE TEACHING SERIES – JANUARY 2018
Every January, we start the new year off with our Keynote teaching series. This is a theme that we strongly feel God wants us to focus on that will set the tone for the year ahead. Our theme for 2018 is FREEDOM. We’ll be looking at what it truly means to live in freedom, why true freedom is found in Jesus, how to break free from hindrances in our lives and much more. This starts on Sunday 13th January.
